Katherine Hughes is a versatile musician who has been a professional violinist and contractor in Chicago for over thirty years. In that time, Katherine has appeared with many internationally known artists, and has often performed on radio and television. She regularly records for Milburn / Bodeen Sound Design, WMS Gaming, World Library Publications, and GIA Publications. She has contracted and performs on numerous radio, television, and internet commercials.

Katherine was a member of and toured with Corky Siegel’s Chamber Blues, and may be heard on CD with that group. Other CD credits include “Rain”, featuring original music written by Ms. Hughes and Collins Trier, and “the four seasons”, a project produced and co-written by Ms. Hughes. With the jazz group Kevin Kizer Quintet, Katherine is featured on the CD “Aspects”. She has produced a rock video, “TV Sages”, which was shown on MTV.

Katherine is part of the new group Lennon’s Tuba with original music by Chris Siebold and John Elmquist. She also performs regularly with singer / songwriter Linda M. Smith in her two multi-media productions, “Artemisia” and “Mearra”. In the more traditional arena, Katherine is a member of the Metropolis Symphony and several chamber groups, including the HAWK String Quartet. She appears on two CD’s of the Chicago composer George Flynn—“Together” and “Remembering”.
